The department of Community Medicine, SMC, Sialkot is
involved in teaching and training of 4th year MBBS students
through lectures, tutorials and presentations in the subject
which emphasizes on the prevention of disease in the
community. It is concerned with the study of health and
disease in the defined community. Its goal is to identify
the health problems and needs of the people (Community
diagnosis) and to plan, implement and evaluate the
effectiveness of health care system. Field visits of places of
public health importance, household survey and research
work is also arranged for the students. The department has
a museum, well equipped with required models, specimens
and equipment for practical demonstrations and tutorials.
